The Anthologist

I ate in here on Christmas Eve for lunch, and again on Thursday.
The service was terrible on both occasions, so i removed the 12.5% service charge.
It took 2 hours from beig seated towards the end of lunch on the first trip before our lunch was concluded, and most of that was waiting.

The second visit, we ordered burgers and they didn't provide the onion rings, we were told they were "currently unavailable" but this was after we had ordered our food was already on the table.
This pisses me off on many levels as we specifically had mentioned whether chips would be needed being of the onion rings, and how many onion rings you got with the burger.
The bun of my ciabata was the colour of chocolate and was burnt, not very good.
I had fortunately ordered chips as well, so I had a lucky escpae.
There were no condiments provided and trying to get anyones attention proved to be futile.

This cost £7.95 for the burger, £2.95 for the chips. Cheese and bacon is an astonishing £1.95.
Bad value for money for the burgers, service was terrible. The food was quite good tasting, but i would have the duck flatbread

4/10 is the rating for this.

Maccas Maccy D's

Or Mc Donalds for those of you that are upper class.
Staple diet of the financially challenged, although these days it getting rather expensive.
I bought two large big mac meals and a double cheese burger and that cost me £11.95, that isn't the good value it once was.
I used to get a super size big mac meal, with 2 apple pies (for £1) and 2 double cheese burgers for lunch, and that used to fill me up good and proper. Now i need to take out a loan.

If you are in a rush (or have a hangover) then maccas isn't too bad, unfortunately you need a shit 20mins after eating the filth, and it will kill you if you eat it every day. But the chips/fries are better in my opinion than Burger King.

Rating 4/10

Cost of food

I haven't set this up for any other reason than to let everyone know that its not about being a cheapskate. Its about getting value for money.
I personally hate paying money for tiny portions of food, or getting something that tastes like something i scraped off my shoe.
I will try to update this every time i eat somewhere new, not with a review, but with a cost to value ratio. This will be marked out of 10, with 10 being good value food, 1 being poor value.
Included within this mark (if for a restaurant), i will include any deductions for shoddy service, stupid charges and poor service.
